Damline:
Fannie Mae was nominated "Premium Foal" at the foal inspection Heinsberg, July 2003 - Silver Medal
MPT Telgte, June 13th, 2006 - placed 2cd out of 20 mares scoring 7,97
scores: trott 8,0  canter 8,5  walk 7,5  ridability/judges 8,0  ridability/testrider 8,5  freejumping 7,5
Fannie Mae was registered with the Hannoverian Main Studbook in August 2011, scoring two times "8" amongst others. She ws given one "8" for her exceptional walk, which meant a lot to me since the unappropriate low 7,5 she was assigned for walk at her MPT five years ago had cost her the deserved win in that test, preventing her from a total score of far beyond 8 that had put her far in front of the entire field of 20 mares.

Full Siblings to Fannie Mae:
Fair Play*2002 Champion of the Rhineland Ridinghorses 2005
Fabrice*1998 MPT Telgte placed 1st out of 21 mares scoring 8,39
single scores: trott 8,5  canter 8,5  walk 8,0  ridability/judges 9,0  ridability/testrider 8,5  freejumping 8,0

Fannie Mae's Progeny:
2007 Sansibar - licensed stallion by Sir Donnerhall - sold as a stallion prospect to Paul Schockemöhle
2008 Sawadee - filly by Sir Donnerhall - Oldenburg Premium Foal - sold to the Netherlands
2009 Riva - filly by Rohdiamant (not for sale)
2010 Rialto Venice  - colt by Real Diamond - sold as a stallion prospect
2011 Deauville  - filly by Don Schufro - not for sale

Sireline Information: Why Don Schufro?

Dago's birth was a precise landing at the expected date this morning.
Little Amelie, my mare barn owner's daughter age eight, had already stated wisely the night before:
"Mum! There's milk running form Fannies' udder! Surely the foal will be coming tonight - and you must promise me to wake me up when it's coming!
Mum! Will you?"
Little Amelie was right. And she surley is a wise kid in many respects.
Not only did she hit the nail on the head with her precise prediction - she also dealt in her mum's promise to be waken up as a reward for her suitable observation!

At three a clock saturday morning Fannie gave birth to her sixth foal in a row and it was an easy birth.
More than that: Fannie made me overy happy delivering the desired colt!
Ever since I had decided to keep Deauville, her filly by Don Schufro who was born last year, for reasons of exceptional quality and timeless proven bloodlines to build my future breeding porgram on and maintain the precious damline, I had wished for nothing else but a colt to be born this year. I was eager to see if Fannie would deliver the same kind of perfect foal by Don Schufro yet again.
Actually, I was eager to find out if Don Schufro really was the perfect match and "nick" breeding to Fannie, as Deauville has already suggested.
One foal can be a coincidence - a second one of comparable or even better quality already serves as a solid hint for a nick breeding.
A third foal will prove the nick for good, I hope :-)

When Dago was born and stood up we were all impressed by his size. Dago is huge compared to Deauville and I find it hard to believe that Fannie has been carrying around this entire package of an overly complete foal in her belly up until last night. Well done, Fannie - I truly owe you a lot!
Looking at Dago's face he has "Don Schufro" written all over his forehead - he surely can't deny his father! Apart from colour, eyes and ears are similar to his full sibling Deauville - but this is where the similarity stops, as my mare barn owner Ingrid reckoned insistantly:
"This is a REAL stallion!", Ingrid stated upon Dago's first appearance and behaviour and I couldn't agree with her more!
Enough said.
Time to let pictures speak for themselves, I guess.

Please note that all the other pictures below are taken at Dago's first day!

"Don Schufro's son!" written all over his forehead - he sure can't deny his father!

Apart from visible treats in the pictures what I love most about Dago is his incredible sweet character.
Other than his sister Deauville, who was rather distant and shy at foal's age, Dago is the cutest cuddling boy of all, nudging me with his nose, asking for cuddle and play from the first day on. And while we are cuddling he tends to spill around his mother's milk all the time, preferably over my head and shoulders when I sit near him. I had never thought that being exposed to equine milk could be such an outspoken pleasure :-)
Also, Dago is the first foal Fannie allowed for human company in her stall from the first day on. Usually she is an overly jealous and wakeful mother letting noone near her newborn kid the first day and I have always respected her for that. After all, horses developed from nature's wild animals - their protective instincts are necessary to help them survive and Fannie's instincts are well understood.
This time is different, however, and it mde me overly happy since these first moments together with mother and foal, watching them peacefully and building my very own relationship to the newly born foal are the most precious moments in my life. I have no words to express how greatful I was for Fannie's trustful behaviour when she whinnied at me and let my sit by her side in the stall saturday morning! These are the moments I live for.
Thank you, Fannie Mae!

My favourite waste of time:
watching Dago play in the field and loving it!

August 2012

At nearly five months of age Dago is growing big and looking more and more like his sire's son:
"Mini-Don Schufro" and a truly impressive young colt!

Dago is sold and has moved to his new home today.
He will be raised as a stallion prospect in the most beautiful place and I am so happy for him and his new owner and wish them both the best of luck and pleasure for both their new found relation!
